Bob's History
How do you get to Carnegie hall? Practice, Practice, Practice; the old joke goes. but what's it like to perform with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of famed conductor Leonard Bernstein? For that, you might just have to ask Bob Fraumann.

Fraumann who teaches, piano, organ and trumpet, said that of a lifetime of musical experiences, one concert stands out as particularly memorable. That concert took place in 1960 at Carnegie Hall when Fraumann sang four performances of Beethoven's Ninth with the Westminster Symphonic Choir and the New York Philharmonic Orchestra directed by Leonard Bernstein. At that time, Fraumann was a graduate student at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ, where he was studying conducting and organ.

Fraumann has been the Minister of Music at The Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Marietta, GA, for 29 years. One highlight of his tenure there was a trip to Jamaica in 2008 with his youth choir singing 8 concerts. This was one of over 50 choir tours he has made with young people in the last 50 years.

It might come as no surprise that Fraumann's family is also musical. His two sons, Rick and Greg, are both singers in the contemporary Christian genre, and his wife, Jan, is also a singer.

In April of 2007, Bob and Jan were honored by Georgia Senator, Johnny Isakson, and the White House for celebrating 50 years of marriage.

Bob's Future Plans
When not performing, conducting, or teaching, Bob says that he enjoys spending time with their children and grandchildren.  Fraumann says that he also enjoys family gatherings at the beach.

Personal Endorsements

Bob’s friendship and music have been a blessing to me.  I am proud of him, and have honored him in the Senate Chamber.  Many have enjoyed Bob’s piano music, including those at my invitation at the National Prayer Breakfast, Washington, DC, on February 4, 2010.  Over 3,000 dignitaries, including the President, and many Members of Congress joined Christians and leaders of all faiths to enjoy Bob’s testimony through music.

Johnny Isakson, United State Senator, Georgia

Robert Fraumann, is an outstanding musician and director of music.  As former pastor of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, I led an intensive search for a choir director and musician.  Bob was well known in the United Methodist Church circles around Atlanta.  My first interview with Bob proved to be all our church leadership needed.  Bob built our music program with phenomenal success.  The children’s choirs grew tremendously and the youth choir was a huge success.  Bob Fraumann is a devoted Christian gentleman.  He is a scholarly musician, and a skillful pianist and teacher, who attracts and inspires those around him.  Bob enjoyed his ministry at Mt. Zion for 33 years before retiring where he served supportively with 8 ministers.  Any church that has Bob Fraumann as its music minister will be blessed and enriched.

Dr. William Hugh Cauthen, Retired Pastor, North Georgia Conference

Bob Fraumann is that rare combination of highly disciplined natural talent coupled with a sweet, surrendered spirit.  His one desire is to lift up Christ.  With the piano or organ he is an artist.  As a music director he is easy to sing with.  As a staff member he was easy to plan with.  Thank God he wants to continue to share his gifts.

Dr. Joe Peabody, Retired Pastor, North Georgia Conference

Bob Fraumann has been a dear friend of mine for over 35 years and serves on the Board of Directors of my music ministry.  He recently retired from Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Marietta after 33 years as Minister of Music and is available for choir workshops, guest conducting, interim conducting, substituting, and music ministry mentoring.  He is a valuable resource and is simply moving to the next chapter of his life in music ministry.

Ralph Freeman, Christian Vocalist

It has been a privilege and joy to share in ministry with Bob Fraumann.  We became ministry colleagues during our college days in the 1950’s.  Bob is deeply committed to the Lord which gives his music a powerful, spiritual impact.  He has an outgoing personality which makes him easy to work with.  He is dearly loved by his choir members and others he ministers with.

Dr. George E. Morris, Pastor, Evangelist, and Professor

I have worked with some wonderful music leaders over a period of over 41 years as a pastor in the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church.  Bob was the best trained, most talented, and most cooperative of all of them.  He has the ability to work with the very young, the very old, and all those folks in between.  He could always pull off the simple thing, and also produce the great and grand production, whether at Christmas or Easter.  I am sure will find Bob Fraumann able to do the things you need to have done.

Reverend Tom Pilgrim, Retired Pastor, North Georgia Conference

I have known Bob Fraumann as a colleague and friend since 1980.  I admire Bob for his talents as an outstanding, creative music director, teacher, author, motivational speaker, and leadership abilities.

Dr. Joyce Rennolds, Motivational Speaker

Bob was married to his wife, Jan, for 56 years.  He was exactly the best husband for her.  I have been thrilled to know him and it has been pure joy to call him friend.
